He does! :D
(Another older pic of it I use as a wallpaper from before the black paint and before he imported it to the US):

I enjoy driving my car even if it is a plain jane DD 2009 Accent hatchback, nothing like rowing your own gears, no matter what it is! It’s just comforting. :)
...somebody find me a job so I can import the FIAT 126 I want! :(

I do indeed! It is just huge amounts of grin inducing fun. Here’s another picture of the pair:
I recently did the cylinder head on it as well as put new shocks all the way around, but she’s not running quite right now. Runs beautifully until you get past half throttle and then stumbles hard. Could be timing, could be the cam is off a tooth, not too sure yet. So, she sits in the garage waiting for me to get a break from work.

Awesome! That’s probably the best picture I’ve taken of the car.
I actually like it as a solid color a bit more than with the black hood and stripes. I think probably next year when I’m a bit more caught up on projects, I’ll strip the exterior down, mask it all off, sand it back and put a few coats of Eastwood Royal Blue paint followed up with a proper clear coat.
This is my current wallpaper:

Hearing the word “gib” makes me want to play old school Doom again, haha.

The Fiat 126 is such a quirky cool little car. I owned a Honda Life 360 for a bit when I lived in Japan and it had a 360cc inline-two cylinder and just made the greatest sound ever. It was a 360 degree crank, but still smooth enough to rev out to 9,000 RPM. There’s just something special about an inline two.
Here’s a short video of me driving it:

You jammy git! They’re brilliant little cars :)
I think you’re on the right track with ignition or cam timing if it ran fine before the head work and that’s all you touched.

Oh, I remember your Life very well! I was very sad when you had to sell it, loved that little thing! It’s actually a car I would highly consider importing from Japan if ever my life situation allowed me to keep more than one ‘weekend’ car!
Parts would be a beyotch over here though...
The Life Touring is my preference - the black trim and wheels add mean-ness! :D

Haha, I had to Google “jammy git”, that’s a new one for me!
My guess is that somehow I fiddled with the ignition timing and gave it a bit too much advance. When I put the engine under heavy load it starts to ping a bit and drops power. I’ll head out there with a timing light today and get to work.

Hah, I do try not to be too obstructively British ;) although throwing in the odd piece of slang to confuse the colonials is practically a national pass-time ;)
Yeah sounds spot on that. Retarded enough that it’ll run under idle but start putting load through it and it pings. Turns out you can run some pretty wild ignition at lower rpm without noticeable effects. Mate of mine has just bought an MG Midget and we’ve been trying to get it running smoothly. He’s not used to working on cars much older than late-90s, so ended up setting the ignition timing at something like 30deg BTDC at 2000rpm (supposed to be 10)!
Thing still ran, but it ran HOT. Turned it off pretty sharpish and went to fetch the timing light. Runs much nicer now!
